Amber
Calderon the current
Miss Austin Texas 2011 titleholder is the
first to wear two local crowns at the same time!!!
She
crowned the new
Miss San AntonioTexas 2011 one week after being crowned Miss Austin
Texas!!
Last
year, Amber held the title of
Miss San Antonio Texas 2010
and placed as a semi-finalist in the
Miss Texas USA 2011 pageant.
Amber
is a senior at Texas State University studying Early Childhood Education
specializing
in the Fine Arts and English as a Second Language. She currently
works as a
mentor for Communities in Schools which empowers students to stay
in school and
achieve in life.
As a former member of the
Texas State Strutters Dance Team,
she enjoys dancing, traveling,
mentoring, and healthy cooking.
Amber
plans on spending her year as
Miss Austin Texas 2011 giving back to her community by working with
various organizations
that promote children’s health and education as well as vying
for the title of
Miss Texas USA 2012.
